2024-2025Afterschool Registration

ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

We equip youth with the tools to remain so in the face of societal pressure to conform to ever-evolving gender stereotypes. We respect the diversity of ideas and cultures, advocate for girls in the community, and provide opportunities to all girls regardless of culture, race, disability, or socioeconomic status.

Girls Incorporated encourages young people to take risks; think, probe, and be inquisitive; be leaders; be assertive, speak up for themselves and take action; make mistakes, learn from them and try again; try out new interests and acquire new skills; be healthy; physically, mentally and emotionally.

Our after-school programs change each year. Some examples of our programming are:

Economic Literacy® enhances financial competence and confidence, teaches fiscal responsibility, and promotes a sense of economic justice within young people.

Friendly PEERsuasion® approaches drug abuse prevention as a peer issue, using the positive influence of young people modeling healthy behavior.

Operation SMART® (Science, Math, And Relevant Technology) dispels stereotypes about math and science and invites participants to join the fun of discovering the world around them.

Mind + Body Inititative   Girls Inc. Mind+Body initiative supports and promotes the whole body health of young people ages 6-18, emphasizing participants’ overall well-being by focusing on physical activity, body image, nutrition, and stress management.

WHAT DOES AFTER SCHOOL LOOK LIKE?

We offer part-time or full-time after-school programs. For our part-time after-school programs, you must register your child for a minimum of 2 days per week.
Hours of service:
School release time until 6:00 pm

Serving children from:
Kindergarten – 6th grade

Which Schools Does Girls Inc. Pick up From?

We pick up from schools in the surrounding area and always welcome drop-offs. We do recognize that this is only a fraction of the schools in Santa Fe, however, we have realized that when we have picked up from schools further away the kids spend more time in the van rather than at the building. We have been working with the 21st Century Program to bring Girls Inc. programs to schools outside our pick-up zone. Please reach out if you would like more details.

The schools we currently pick up from are as follows:

Acequia Madre
Aspen Community Magnet
Atalaya
Carlos Gilbert
EJ Martinez
Gonzales
Wood Gormley

WHEN IS REGISTRATION?

Registration begins Monday, July 8, 2024, at 9 AM. The registration interest form does not automatically register your child. It is more of a virtual line to inform the Girls Inc. staff of your interest in enrolling.

**The link will not be live until 9 AM on Monday, July 8th.**

HOW WILL I REGISTER?

– Registration will be held online.

– Once you have filled out the interest form your child’s name and info will be added to our interest list/virtual line in the order they came in.
– You will then be contacted by our registrar who will provide you with a registration packet and payment information. We will hold your space for 48 hours to complete everything online.
– After we receive your registration forms and payment, your child’s space will be confirmed and you will receive a confirmation email.

WHAT WILL I NEED TO REGISTER?

Please provide proof of income. For example W2s, 2 current paycheck stubs, a letter from an employer, unemployment benefits doc, etc. If applicable, please provide both guardians’ proof of income. If you have any questions regarding other documentation please reach out.
