Markeeta Brown, Board Member

Markeeta McNatt Brown moved to Santa Fe from Dallas in 2017, after having spent summers in Taos for 11 years before that.   She loves that Santa Fe “punches way above its weight” in terms of cultural opportunities for a town of its size, as well as offers dozens of hiking trails within a short drive.    Before becoming involved in Girls Inc., she tutored 3^rd graders in reading both in Dallas and Santa Fe because she feels that early literacy is key to success and happiness in life.   She received her journalism degree from the University of Texas and an M.B.A. from SMU.   Most of her career was spent in corporate America — first in public relations, marketing and corporate communications, and then in investor relations.
