Jolene Duran, Creative Systems & Outreach Manager

Born and raised in New Mexico, Jolene grew up between Santa Fe and Española before earning B.A.s in International Relations and Russian from the University of New Mexico. In 2016, she studied abroad at Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University, an experience that challenged her deeply and enhanced her Russian skills while teaching her about the struggles of being an outsider in a strange land.

Jolene has worked for other notable Santa Fe institutions, including the International Folk Art Market, where she worked closely with hundreds of folk artists from over 50 countries as Artist Development Coordinator, and Meow Wolf, in numerous operational roles.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, board games, reading, cooking,  and spending time with her husband and their two cats, Jonathan and Winnie. A passionate advocate for human rights and the rights of girls and women everywhere she hopes to inspire the girls in her life to stand up for what they believe in.
