Diane Ramsey, Board Secretary
Diane grew up in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and Green Bay, Wisconsin, the oldest of six children. She witnessed the few options available to her mom – a young, divorced mother in the 1950s and her mother’s desire that all her children pursue an education.
Diane’s career started in advertising and marketing in Chicago, with 30 years in Iowa, working in advertising, corporate communications, customer management, and economic and community development, with the last ten devoted to women’s leadership.
As co-founder and CEO of Women Lead Change (formerly Iowa Women Lead Change), Diane found her true passion in helping develop women and girl leaders. In collaboration with Iowa’s Governor, she established the Epic Corporate Challenge, one of the nation’s first statewide public-private partnerships to advance women leaders and their organizations.
Upon retiring, Diane moved to Santa Fe to join her husband and founded the Awakened Woman LLC with Dr. Tererai Trent, an International speaker, educator and philanthropist. She has more than 30 years of non-profit board experience in the arts, human services and the business sectors. Diane is a mentor for American Corporate Partners supporting veterans and spouses of US Military members, and co-chairs an International Folk Art Market committee. She is honored to support the girls of our region through the Board of Girls Inc. of Santa Fe.
Diane and her husband, Bruce Johnson, love living in Santa Fe with their Weimaraner Harper.
